HMSA markets, distributes, and supports HMC's advanced diagnostic imaging products, including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and HI VISION brand ultrasound systems. The company is one of the leading distributors of open MRIs in the US. Its parent company's Altaire brand was developed specifically for the US market. Other MRI systems are sold under the Oasis, Echelon, and AIRIS brands. HMSA was founded in 1989 to increase the profile of Hitachi's medical imaging products in the US.
